Resources to live well with SMA

Neuromuscular clinics provide specialised care for neuromuscular
conditions, including SMA. Coordinated care through a
neurologist is recommended, and SMA clinics offer proactive care.

The NDIS may fund reasonable and necessary supports that enable your child to go to school, such as:

  • Support for self-care at school, like eating
  • Transport to help your child to go to school
  • Equipment or technology, such as a wheelchair
  • Support for the move from primary to secondary school
